PDO (Polydioxanone) Thread Lift

As you age, the body stops producing as much collagen. This leads to sagging and loss of elasticity in the skin. A PDO thread lift can be done on your whole face, or just in certain areas. It can also be used for a non-surgical breast lift that leaves no scarring. A PDO thread lift can turn back the hands of time without the need for surgery. Often, it can be combined with laser therapy and fillers, to give you rejuvenated skin and a more youthful appearance.

A thread lift is a minimally invasive procedure that uses dissolvable sutures to tighten and lift your skin. The presence of the sutures in your skin triggers cells in your body to produce more collagen. A PDO thread lift can revitalize sagging parts of the face, breast, and other areas with little downtime required. It is a safe, affordable, non surgical option for skin tightening. Request a consultation today to find out if a thread lift is a good option for you. Dr. Tantawi will answer any questions you have and talk about your goals for the tighter, firmer skin you desire and deserve.

The PDO Thread Lift Procedure for the Face

A thread lift can be used to tighten and plump the most common areas of your face such as eyes, cheeks, neck, and the jaw area. In addition, complementary procedures like ultrasound and dermal fillers, may be used alongside the thread lift

For the thread lift procedure Dr. Tantawi will thoroughly clean your face. Areas are marked where the threads will be inserted. A local anesthetic is applied to the areas where the needle will be inserted. After the anesthetic has taken effect he will make a small incision in the area to be treated and insert a cannula (small tube) into the hole. A thread will be inserted and anchored into place, and the cannula will be pulled out. The thread is made secure in place and then cut. Once the thread is in place the incision is closed.

The PDO (Non-Surgical) Breast Lift

If you would like your breasts to be more lifted without surgery, the PDO breast lift is the way to go. Because the thread dissolves slowly over time, there is no scarring with this treatment. The thread also causes the body to make collagen in the lifted area which has a rejuvenating effect.

The PDO thread breast lift procedure starts with Dr. Tantawi disinfecting the areas where the needle will be inserted. The areas where the thread will be inserted are marked. A small incision is made and a needle is inserted with the thread being pulled beneath the subcutaneous layers of fat and pulled tight to instantly lift the breast. Once the threads are in place the incision is closed. As the sutures dissolve they stimulate the body to produce collagen and the new skin structure anchors the breast.

PDO Thread Lift Recovery

For the first 2-3 days you will experience a little soreness and swelling of the area where the incisions are. It is important to sleep on your back for the first 2-5 days to avoid contact with the thread sites. Unlike traditional surgery the recovery period is much easier. Dr. Tantawi will give you instructions for caring for your sutures so that you have the best recovery possible. For the first few days you must be careful not to cause any abrasion to the sutures. It will take 2-4 months for your face or breasts to completely heal. However, you can return to your regular activities within a few days other than strenuous exercise. Walking is good but it’s best to wait a few weeks before doing strenuous exercise.

THREAD LIFT FAQs

How long the threads last has to do with your metabolism, in general they last 4-6 months before they start dissolving. Results can last a year or more due to the body producing collagen in the area treated.

The cost of a PDO thread lift is dependent upon how many areas are done. Dr. Tantawi will give you a complete cost at your consultation.
